Aim:
- The aim of the Train-the-Trainer course is to give a Medical Spanish instructor candidate an introduction to the Medical Spanish Workshop and how they may participate in the instructional process
Objectives:
- To examine the logistics of the course
- To present various teaching methods to instruct adult learners of foreign language
- To review the course textbook, contents, and supplemental materials
- To discuss issues and challenges relating to the instruction of Medical Spanish
- To establish a core Medical Spanish instructor group
- To consider the possibilities for developing further learning opportunities for the students
Learning outcomes:
On completion of this course you will be able to:
- Explain the focus of the Medical Spanish Workshop
- Describe the logistics of a teaching station style course
- Distinguish between the various types of students and learning styles
- Identify the instructional needs of different types of students
- Demonstrate effective responses to a variety of student questions
- Describe the essential attributes of a good trainer
- Demonstrate effective use of the textbook as an instructional aid
