Aim:

• The aim of the Train-the-Trainer course is to give a Medical Spanish instructor candidate an introduction to the Medical Spanish Workshop and how they may participate in the instructional process

Objectives:

• To examine the logistics of the course
• To present various teaching methods to instruct adult learners of foreign language
• To review the course textbook, contents, and supplemental materials
• To discuss issues and challenges relating to the instruction of Medical Spanish
• To establish a core Medical Spanish instructor group
• To consider the possibilities for developing further learning opportunities for the students

On completion of this course you will be able to:

• Explain the focus of the Medical Spanish Workshop
• Describe the logistics of a teaching station style course
• Distinguish between the various types of students and learning styles
• Identify the instructional needs of different types of students
• Demonstrate effective responses to a variety of student questions
• Describe the essential attributes of a good trainer
• Demonstrate effective use of the textbook as an instructional aid
